10 Dec My Fit Foods and Miss Nutrition for Artists for Trauma at Next Step Fitness
Our last session for 2013 with Next Step Fitness was educational and fun!
AFT teamed with My Fit Foods and “Miss Nutrition” Jolanta Sierra to guide a group session focused on teaching members about healthy and delicious eating and how what we feed our bodies, mind and spirit has a direct impact on how we sculpt our physical body, our energy levels and our emotive states.
We all have a good sense of what might be good for us, but there’s often the misconception that what’s healthy doesn’t necessarily taste good. Jenna and My Fit Foods offered samples of delicious and nutritious food, proving that healthy foods can taste good too!
Workshop members requested a follow-up nutritional session where they could sculpt more good energy by cooking their own food. We are definitely looking into a culinary arts session in the New Year!
Did you know that the definition of culinary arts is the art of preparing and cooking foods with an understanding for the science of nutrition while creating selections that are pleasing to the palate and the eye?
Melissa Allensworth, AFT Student Artist and Next Step Fitness member extraordinaire, recorded the session for us. We’ll be putting the video on Youtube shortly so everyone can benefit.
