Ventura County Medical Center Ribbon Cutting

Artists for Trauma Director of Volunteer Artists, Wana Klasen, represented the presence of Artists for Trauma at the milestone, anticipated Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the Ventura County Medical Center, North Tower held on June 9, 2017. The event was well attended by Community, Professional Staff, Ancillary Staff , the Architects and Builders , and County Representatives and Supervisors!

Artists for Trauma is honored to respond to the invitation, which supports our long standing collaborative relationship with Dr. Thomas Duncan, Co-Trauma Director and Chief of Staff at VCMC, and with Amy Towner, Chief Executive Officer of the Health Care Foundation of Ventura County as expressed in our Adaptive Painting Workshop, November 2015 at Ventura County Medical Center.

In addition to the opportunity to interact with, and congratulate Dr. Duncan and Amy Towner, I am pleased to have also seen Dr. Cheryl Lambing, MD of the Brain Injury Center of Ventura County.

Artists For Trauma has been the invited guest of Dr. Duncan at the Annual Brain Injury Center Gala Event held in Oxnard, California. Dr. Lambing, a Family Practice Physician, is a faculty member at Ventura County Medical Center. The Family Practice Residency Program at VCMC is affiliated with UCLA and is recognized as the number one such identified program nationwide!

Artists For Trauma values the collaborative relationship with VCMC by bringing “Healing Through Art” to Trauma Survivors in Ventura County in keeping with our focus and dedication to artistic engagement with civilian and military trauma survivors in concert with Creativity, Connectivity, and Community.
