22 Nov Triumph of the Human Spirit
On Thursday, November 21st, The Kessler Rehabilitation Institute celebrated the achievements of its patients and staff at the hospital’s annual Triumph of the Human Spirit gala. The American Heart Association – Go Red for Women campaign will also help build awareness, fund research and help end heart disease and stroke in women. Artists for Trauma was in represented by Laura T. Sharpe, Founder, Aaron Baker, and Kimberly Rath – both are members of the Board of Directors.
“For more than 70 years, Kessler Institute has pioneered the course of physical medicine and rehabilitation. Today, as the nation’s largest single rehabilitation hospital, we continue to define this field – providing the highly specialized care, advanced treatment and leading-edge technologies that enable individuals with spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, amputation, neurologic diseases, musculo-skeletal and orthopedic trauma, cancer and cardiac conditions to rebuild their lives.
Kessler is one of only seven centers in the country to receive federal designation as a Model System for the treatment and research of both spinal cord injury and brain injury treatment and research, a distinction we hold with the Kessler Foundation. That same level of expertise and experience distinguishes each of the comprehensive rehabilitation programs offered at our four New Jersey campuses. Perhaps that’s one reason why U.S. News & World Report ranks Kessler as one of “America’s Best Hospitals” and why, each year, thousands of individuals from across the country choose Kessler for their rehabilitation.”
